More Than a Grant Program
The Club HBCU Student Excellence Fund™ was established on a simple belief:
Every talented student deserves the opportunity to pursue excellence without unnecessary financial barriers.
Administered by Cups Are Great™, a subsidiary of The Funding Profiler, LLC, the Fund transforms commercial success into educational opportunity by supporting students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Our commitment is not simply to award grants.
Our commitment is to build a sustainable institution that will continue creating opportunities for generations of HBCU students.
Because education changes lives.
And opportunity changes generations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How are recipients selected?
Students who complete a Student Excellence Profile™ and successfully verify their eligibility are entered into a documented random selection process. Every verified eligible student has an equitable opportunity to be selected. Selection is based solely on published eligibility requirements and the documented random selection process. Purchases, donations, social media activity, personal relationships, or customer status do not influence recipient selection.
Do I have to repay the grant?
No. Awards from the Club HBCU Student Excellence Fund™ are educational grants, not loans. Recipients are not required to repay grant funds, provided they remain eligible and the funds are properly applied to their educational expenses through their college or university.
Can I apply more than once?
Yes. Students who remain eligible may participate in future grant cycles by submitting or updating their Student Excellence Profile™ as instructed by the Institution. Receiving a grant in one cycle does not automatically disqualify you from future consideration, nor does it guarantee selection in future cycles.
Can graduate students apply?
Yes. The Student Excellence Fund™ is open to eligible students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at accredited Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Students enrolled solely in associate degree programs are not eligible.
When are awards announced?
Award announcement dates vary by grant cycle. The Institution currently administers multiple grant cycles throughout the academic year, including Fall, Spring, and Summer. Official announcement dates for each cycle will be published on the Club HBCU website and communicated to eligible applicants by email.
How are grants paid?
Whenever reasonably practicable, grant funds are paid directly to the recipient’s accredited HBCU for application to the student’s institutional account. Funds are intended to support eligible educational expenses such as tuition, mandatory fees, housing, meal plans, books, and other educational expenses administered through the student’s student account.
What happens after I submit my Student Excellence Profile™?
After you submit your Student Excellence Profile™, you will:
- Receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your profile.
- Be assigned a unique Applicant Identification Number for the applicable grant cycle.
- Enter the eligibility verification process, during which the Institution may request additional information or verify your enrollment with your HBCU.
- If your eligibility is successfully verified, you will be included in the documented random selection process for the applicable grant cycle.
- If selected, the Institution will contact you with the next steps needed to complete award processing and coordinate payment with your college or university.
Submitting a Student Excellence Profile™ confirms your interest in the program but does not guarantee selection or the receipt of a grant.
Is there a cost to apply?
No. Completing a Student Excellence Profile™ and participating in the Club HBCU Student Excellence Fund™ is completely free. No purchase, donation, or payment is ever required to become eligible for consideration. Purchasing Club HBCU products helps support the Fund, but it does not increase or decrease any student’s opportunity to be selected.
